Prepping for spring with midi skirts

The midi-skirt might seem like a challenging length as it could turn up your outfit to look too dull. But midis have replaced maxi dresses, micro dresses, and below-the-knee skirts as the hem length du jour because of a very simple reason: they hit your leg at the skinniest part of your ankle and giving you an extra visual boost in height. With the right design details, worn with the right shoes and the right top tucked in the right way, it can immediately become a Fashion-Week-worthy ensemble.

Likewise, adding some randomness and asymmetry to your outfit can make you look more stylish. A ruffle skirt can do just that. Similar to other types of skirts, ruffle skirts of different length can be styled quite differently to generate different expressions. Having said that, they are quite easy to pull off.

I usually prefer either a maxi dress or a mini dress over a midi dress. But this beautiful midi skirt may have just changed my mind. To style this amazing plaid ruffle midi skirt, you can wear it with a white button up to keep the outfit simple and clean. I paired it with a light pink top and again with my new trench jacket, as I like the colour combo pink and brown/beige. Another advise is, wear a statement shoe, as the right shoe can make your outfit. I recommend a sporting heel with interesting details or boots and of course you can wear sneakers or espadrilles to keep it totaly casual and laid back.

Are you already prepping your outfits for Spring:)?

Have a lovely weekend!
