How to style the mini skirt and look not too teenaged

Mini skirts have been back for a while, in a clean polished way, but now we are going back to the roots. All of a sudden, it seems that the mini, especially the denim mini, has been transformed from teenage piece to a pared-back wardrobe staple. But there are still some tips how to style the mini in a mature way.

Wearing a mini skirt with trainers might make you feel like you’ve just climbed out of your teenage wardrobe, however if you style them with chunky boots, it will have a much cooler and more modern feel about it. If you’re a bit timid to show much leg try a sleek silhouette in a darker wash and style it with an untucked blouse and add casual accessories. Avoid revealing too much skin by pairing a mini with a polo-neck jumper or a high-necked T-shirt, rather than anything too low cut.

In collaboratin with romwe.com I’ve choosen one of the most comfy black denim mini skirt and a high-necked jumper. Further I’ve picked the jumper in beige as I like to take out the earthy tones for fall. Finishing the outfit I matched the black boots with the skirt and my little bag with the sweater. Earthy tones might seem basic, but it’s also fashionable and functional, creating a fresh, natural and understatedly chic look that varies depending on the fabric. Do you like earthy tones and mini skirts?

Have a fantastic weekend.

xx C.
