Rethink pink

Pink has been rebranded and it’s now the color of powerful optimistic statements. It was also the color of spring and summer 2017 runways and will continue as well in fall. Wheter pastel tones or electrified berry tones, pink showed up already at many well known designer like Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Emilio Pucci etc.. In the most fashion shows you could  find this colour in a way of modern romance followed by lovely embroidery and silhouttes as well as beautiful embellished frills or lace.

However it’s midsummer and I wanted to keep my style on trend and combined pink with red. I love this vibrant color combination and you have probably seen many of those color blocking looks already. Althoug, before you could never ever think about wearing red and pink together, it was a no-go, but not in 2017. This year the rule was here to be ignored and the color mix is just explosiv likewise I find it romantic. Maybe this combo feels still a bit new in the beginning, so you can choose also smaller steps to combine them.

I wanted to start with a pastel pink basic t-shirt and a red ruffle skirt with little polka dots to have a girly-girl look. The key to wear pink and red, is to match bolder tones of both shades. Every season I find something that really inspires me, if it’s materials, silhouettes or colors and this combination definitely got me. How about you?

Happy 1st of August!
